Since the upgrade can't save preferences.

Since the OTA every time I turn on the phone it tells me that not all of my GPS settings are off. I only turn off and on the stand alone GPS setting. After showing me the notice there's a choice to not show the warning again, but it does every time. I have a similar problem with my browser. I usually share my general location, but every time I start the browser after a power up it asks me to select a preference and offers me a tick box to remember my choice, and every time I have to select again. On kind of a related note my free power widget now opens settings instead of just turning off my stand alone GPS. It's like none of the preferences can or are being saved. So far what I've noticed with the apps I use regularly is thatthose settings seem to be holding. I guess as long as it doesn't require location.

If I remember correctly there was a buzz when we got 2.2 about factory resetting after the update. I did then because I updated from the rru, I haven't with .3 just because about a week before my Inc decided it to factory reset its self. I recovered but I just recovered and I'm not ready to do it again so soon. Now that I'm just about at pace with it I just wanted to know if you had already done one and were still having issues or if like myself you haven't done one yet?I also want to say thanks for posting. All the people who've looked and walked away... Thanks.

I haven't and am not going to. 4.08 has attempted to install on my phone twice and if it does again I don't know what it's going to do to it . I may have to at that point but until then I'll just deal with the warning because as I wrote before my settings are sticking. One thing I have noticed is my phone will accept incoming bluetooth files but will no longer send them. That is the first above annoyance wrinkle I've found in the update.

Alrighty now Mark, it's about time to root your phone don't you think, then all of these little gremlins will be gone... Besides you are going to be upgrading to the RAZR today, JK's been channeling the info to you

Nah. I am going to go look at a Kindle Touch tomorrow at Best Buy, so I'll be used to the new phone sizes, but my phone is fine as frog hair as is

Should have left well enough alone. Holding the volume rocker while resetting will allow you to factory reset the Inc. Shortly after posting I did just that, and the results were far from phenomenal. My original reason for wanting to do the FR was every time I powered up I would get the message that not all of my location choices were off, and each time I went to Google, even though I set it as a preference, it would ask me if I wanted to share my location. I had other annoyances with other apps, but these were the two that bugged me the most. Anyway, I did the FR and now I have all of those same issues along with this new one. Icons and widgets on my home screen are reproducing and doubling up. What do I mean? I mean that I'll have an Icon or widget on one page and it will show up under another on a different page. If I hold the item it goes to trash mode and right under it is the duplicated item. Once I had two of the same widgets appear in the same spot and I couldn't figure out why the print looked doubled and some of the information was missing. I decided to throw it away and just add it again but under was a perfectly working widget.??? On one page I had a widget that kept dying, but then I started noticing it on other pages. So my new active wallpaper (kind of a pun since I am not using an active wallpaper) is figure out what's missing and where is it hiding. It not a fun game. I've considered doing another FR for the hell of it, because in a few weeks I'll likely have the Rezound and have to start over anyway.
