Dozen of apps/processes unexpectedly stop at startup
I have never rooted my phone and have a pretty standard set of apps, none of which are recent additions. Today, I got a notice that my launcher was not responding. I restarted, and when it gets to the home screen it just piles notices on top of on another of nearly every app and process failing. If I can get the notices to all close, I'll get one for "android.process.acore" that repeats it's notification of failure every 4 seconds. Someone please help.

Have you tried a battery pull? While it's out rub the contacts with a pencil eraser to clean them.
Are any of the apps on your sd card? Is your launcher the stock Sense? The second to last update to my Go launcher made it act up terribly, lots of force closes, but the update I got this morning seems to fix it.
Are you running a task killer? If so set it to manual or delete it if you can get your phone booted that much
I'm just asking some additional questions to help the rescue squad once they get involved

Thanks for the questions!
I have tried the battery pull to no avail.
I didn't have any apps in the sd card, and I've since removed it while attempting to fix. Should I reinsert it?
Using the stock Sense launcher
No task killer

Update: took it to the Verizon store nearby to see if they might be any help. I got there and explained the problem, but now the device repeatedly shows the very first screen of startup every few seconds. This also happens when plugged in to a power source.

Verizon is too often about as helpful as having the hiccups while running in a race.
Hopefully the rescue squad members will be able to chime in shortly with alternate methods to try a factory reset or something. I don't remember enough of how to without possibly turning your phone into a nice looking paperweight.

Do you have the Inc or the Inc2? If Inc, did you get the Gingerbread OTA update?
