How long should I let it go before I can conclude it is frozen and must be restarted because I definitely do NOT want to brick it and I've tried to be extra careful all the way up this process.

And what will it do if I accidentally clicked no on the update because I pressed the incorrect volume key?

Let it run for a few more minutes at least. Patience is a virtue.

If you hit no you would just run it again. But you should know if you hit volume up or volume down.

I will definitely let it run for a while before I do anything with it, I just want to make sure it isn't trying to do the same thing as it was before because when it was on the HTC Incredible screen, I let it run for the night and the next morning it was still on that screen.

It should only take a few minutes. You don't have to leave it running overnight. Please report back its status.

Its failed. Sounds like a corrupt download or you open the zip before renaming it. Did you check the md5? I put it on there for a reason.

Right now it's still on the white boot screen. I'm very upset right now because I'm pretty positive I've done everything right. I'm just getting irritated with the whole situation because my phone has been like this for two days and I rely on it for everything,

Okay- let's have you flash an updated recovery. Delete the previous PB31IMG from your SD card. Download this file http://dougpiston.com/files/Recovery...nc_PB31IMG.zip to your computer and without opening it, rename it to PB31IMG then put it on your SD card. Flash through HBoot.

Okay so the link on Doug's thread has worked and it is updating now. After it updates everything, will it revert back to stock or is there something else i have to download and install?
