Unrooting for November OTA from Verizon?
I don't have much experience with rooting, my friend convinced me to do it with my HTC Incredible a while back, and I'm assuming I have to unroot it before I can install the OTA update from Verizon, that I'm getting really tired of hitting ignore on for the last two weeks or so. Can someone please walk me through what I need to do before I can accept this update, or at least link me to something detailing the process?
Thank you.

The November OTA doesn't offer much other than bloatware and a change in way POP3 accounts are handled. If you don't use a POP3, there's no real reason to accept the update.
Most ROMs now offer the OTA baked in. What are you running?

I really just want the notification to go away. I keep hitting "Install Later" because I assume if I accept it, it will mess up my phone since it's rooted. Is that not the case?
Also, I have Virtuous-v3.0.1 installed, it's been that since day 1 of rooting and I'm not even really sure how to update it, any recommendations?

The OTA will count down then fail. People report the message goes away after that.

jsgksu, the current version of Virtous, 3.1, has the OTA baked in so you won't get prompts to update. The site to download updated versions is here: Virtuous ROM If you're happy with Virtuous, that's the easiest solution. If you want to play around with other ROMs, there are lots of choices out there and we can guide you through them. What would you like to do?

enlighteded...I would like to upgrade to the newest November OTA from Verizon, but it is failing and I believe it is because I rooted using unrevoked's root method. How do I unroot the phone? I am not running any custom ROMs at this time, just rooted.

How to get back to complete stock from s-off
Keep in mind if you unroot your phone and upgrade to the November OTA, and you want to re root your phone then you will need the newest unrevoked version 3.22

jjcallaw, any reason you want the latest OTA? If you don't use a POP3 e-mail account it doesn't offer much by the way of improvement. Installing a custom ROM will eliminate the annoying notifications. We can guide you to some pretty good ones that have the OTA baked in. What approach would you like to take?

Yes I just hit install, it fails after the countdown and then it goes away...luckily lol

What ROMs are available that are close to the stock? This is my wife's phone and she doesnt like change that much. I have a Droid X so I am very familiar with the entire ROM process on the X...I am assuming you are using ROM Manager? Thanks for your help!
