If any of you are still having issues with this, there is a way to downgrade to the pre-Nov OTA update, making it so unrevoked 3.21 WILL work, and once rooted, there are directions on how to update to the new OTA update and keep root. Follow the directions in post #199. They work even if your phone is S-on. After the first part, I suggest using unrevoked forever to permanently keep S-off, if you want to.

How long does that take? I'm really in no rush to root at the moment and I don't have a whole lot of time. Seems simpler to just wait for the fix

I think I'll wait at this point, I can't imagine it will take much longer to fix. Great alternative though.

If you know your way around ADB it takes about an hour tops. I just traded my droid 2 for an incredible to find out there was no root access because of the OTA. I got to researching and stumbled across this and luckily it worked great.
