Changing lock/slider unlock bar?

My question: How can i change the slider/unlock bar, like literally replace it instead of running an application over top of it like widget locker, which i dont particularly like. I downloaded the pack 'lock bars' in rom manager under the sky raider section, and they dont change it, even when i type 'tabunlock' in terminal and select one of the options.

I've sorta dived right into the HTC Hacking world a few days ago.

Rooted, have Clockwork recovery. Currently using Sky raider 3.3 with kingsx 5 kernel. Using launcher pro instead of sense. Also replaced the notification bar with one found in rom manager.

Thanks, well actually the thread i was looking at told me to rename the htclockscreen.apk so it wouldnt load and would load up a default, but my phone failed to boot after that, so i had to rename it in command prompt.

So i am actually still at square 1.

What type of lockscreen are you looking for? That tutorial will give you the stock android lockscreen and should work with SkyRaider although I admit I haven't used SR in a while. What process did you use to rename the file?

What i did was: i went into system/app and renamed htclockscreen.apk to htclockscreen.pak so it wouldnt load. I used the root explorer application and I used windows command prompt to rename back to .apk after it failed to load.

Yup that's the default lockscreen. Looks like you did everything right, perhaps this is not an option on SkyRaider anymore. I know it works with a lot of sense ROMs (I just did it for the second time on Redemp Revolution). Did you check the goodies section to see if SkyRaider has a default lock screen? If there is none, maybe try and do a search on the XDA thread, I'm sure someone must have brought it up.

The rom manager does have 'vanilla 3.0 lock screen packs' under the skyraider section. I installed it but it didnt change anything. typing in tabunlock and selected options there, which also yielded no results. ill continue to try other things. Edit: I am backing up my image now, gonna try installing service pack 1 for skyraider, Not sure if its already installed even though i just installed the latest version of skyraider (noting that that linked thread says you need sp1 or higher to use the lock screens)

I think you can get the stock screen with either LauncherPro and/or Beautiful Widgets- check out the Beginner's Guide to LauncherPro thread, somewhere around post 41 or so.
