sorry I'm asking too many questions at once, but I did receive the update prompts last night and my biggest question is: If I accept the update on my s-off rooted dinc, is something bad going to happen? Should I get S-On first for some reason?
I would not get s-on. Leave it s-off in case you would like to root the device again.
Tried to run the radio 2.15 zip and got aborted unable to verify signature. Help please :-)
Talkdj, did you accept the latest OTA?
Sorry for the confusion. No I did not accept the ota. I dl'd the latest zip file for radio 2.15...07.28 put it on the root of the sd card went into clocokwork and tried to run the zip file. After reading again the instructions that Doug laid out, it says I should use Hboot. A little confusing here, any help would be appreciated.
Will this work with an slcd screen??
Thanks
Yes. But if you root again, you'll have to re-apply the fix to Clockwork for SLCD screens. See the sticky thread about black screens in Recovery.
On a side note...by now we've probably all either survived the OTA, or been victimized by it and await the imminent fix from Unrevoked. The lesson learned was not to leave the phone in S-On and accept any OTA.
So if you return to stock for an OTA, but want to root again, for God's sake flash S-Off before accepting the OTA.
Or, make your life easy - just flash rmk40's Virtuous 3.1.0. As far as I can see, having (carefully!) done the OTA and then installed Virtuous, it's got everything that was in the OTA and a bunch more, all rooted and deodexed, while retaining the stock look and feel until you decide to change it.
Best,
Raz
