So far I was able to get S-ON (whatever that means) and download the PB31IMG-radio-2.15.00.07.28.zip file. I formatted my SD card from FAT to FAT32 added the zip file renaming it to PB31IMG.zip and placed it under the root folder of the sd card. I booted up in HBOOT 0.90.0000 with radio 2.15.00.07.28. My phone is the HTC incredible (DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC - Verizon - Support for HTC Cell Phones) which at the time was running CyanogenMod 7. I was trying to flash my phone back to stock and I tried all of the steps above. I get to the "Checking...[PB31IMG.ZIP]" step that razgueado spelled out, but my phone goes back to the HBOOT main screen with no messages, warning, errors, etcetera. I can re-run the auto check for the files, but it yields the same results of going back to the main screen.
So I gave up on that more technical method and used the program to do it automatically. It worked just fine! Once it finished it looked just like it did when I got the phone. So to be extra sure that it worked I loaded the phone did a couple of tests to make sure functionality was working, and used the HTC Incredible option (probably the same thing) to restore the phone to factory settings. Once it finally came back up I still had the same issue that I originally had from the original HTC stock (rooted and un-rooted), CyanogenMod 7 (which is the latest available for my phone), and the re-formatted stock (with and without the update un-rooted, rooted with the update)...
Whenever I place a call or receive a call, roughly 99% of the time my phone will lock while calling. What I mean by lock is that my screen will go black (which is normal for the initiation of a call), but I am unable to bring it out of the black screen state. I have tried pushing/holding down the power button, pressing/holding the volume buttons, pressing/holding the trackball buttons, tapping the screen/touch sensitive buttons at the bottom, and anywhere from lightly moving my phone back and forth to activate the accelerometer (which normal displays the call duration and number pad) to violently shaking the crap out of my phone. Nothing works. The only thing that does work is that I can still talk and hear from receiving and placed calls.
The only way to get my phone out of this locked state is to pull out my battery and power it back on. Even after the phone call ends or I had a dropped call, the phone stays locked. This started happening before I installed the update by Verizon Software Update: DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC (was already downloaded, I just ignored the message asking me to install it). Since my phone wasnt working anyhow I installed the update hoping that the issue was going to be fixed..... no luck. So then I installed CyanogenMod 7 to try a completely different approach to my issue. Exact same issue as before. Then I came here, restored my phone to the HTC factory stock, and I installed the stupid update by Verizon.
Please help me with my calling issue! Thank you so much in advance for any help you can give me
So as a final note, where can I get more information on what a radio is? Or what the S-ON and S-OFF is?
Doug and Razguedo -- thanks for your help. I had to warranty exchange my phone -- couldn't have got it back to stock without your help. Thanks again!
No, IMG files for the original Droid Incredible, for the Incredible S, or for the Incredible 2 are not identical..
I have a Droid Incredible on CM7.2.0
Android Version: 2.3.7
Baseband Version: 2.15.00.07.28
Kernal Version: 2.6.38.8-incredikernel-gbdrew@tinster
I am S-OFF now, I followed this: How to get back to complete stock from s-off
Tried flashing the PB1IMG through bootloader, shows the blue loading bar on the right side, fills all the way up, then it disappears with no option of pressing volume up to update.
I then tried downloading the RUU and HTC Sync and doing it that way, and I got ERROR 155 every time I tried doing it.
I have to send the phone out to someone who bought it in the next couple days and I need it to be back to stock.
I have no Nandroid backups of the original ROM.
Is the fact that I have CM7 not allowing me to use the RUU?
I really need to get back to stock guys.
Please help me out!
