    1 step root?

Is there a app like easy root that you install on the SDCard to root/unroot this device?

I had a Incredible in the early days but there was something wrong with it and with a 3 month backlog support swoped it out for a Droidx.

So I am just got another Inc.

Another question is what is s-off?
    Where do I find it?
I just got he Inc and am charging it up.
I assume it will have 2.2 since its a new one.

    Thanks

There's a rooting tutorial posted as a sticky in this section- I'm linking to it at the bottom of this reply. However, if you literally just got the new phone it has a SLCD display. There's a conflict between the SLCD technology and recovery after rooting. The dev is currently working on a fix that should be out any day now. You CAN root with an SLCD but it requires a few extra steps. If you're up for it, we're happy to help. But if you want true 1-step root (it's actually 3 steps- drivers, rooting tool, backup) I'd recommend holding off for a day or two until the fix is ready.

Interesting when I called to order this I specifically asked if the screen was the same as the original one I had back in June, she told me that it was.
Is this one as good or not as vibrant as the original lot?

    Thanks
    JW

Yes, when rooted, you can set the phone to wake up with the optical button. That's how mine is set. Several ROM's are set up for this.

    Phone: iPhone 4S
    Jailbroken

    Tablet: Nexus 7
    BAMF Paradigm 2.0

    Tablet: iPad 3
