Flashing ROMs tutorial

This is what I have so far which isnt much:
I used unrevoked to root my phone
HBoot version of course is 0.92 and S-off.
Recovery: Clockworkmod recovery v2.2.05
I have ROM manager installed and Titanium backup but the free versions for the moment until next weekend when my broke butt has money. Lol

If I want to put Skyraider into my phone these steps will help me out correct and as well using the ROM manger? (also Don's ROM?)
Hydra Kernel? Can I put these 2 together?
I'm looking for ROMs/Mod that will help increase my battery performance (also want to get rid of some apps that i dont use at all but can uninstall) and Im trying to research and get the right rom/mods/files together. I will as well be ordering a 1750 to help in the improvement of my battery.

I saw online this can help my battery out quite a but>> Kingsx BFS 5

You need to look for an undervolt kernel only. If it's overclocked (as some Hydra's are) you'll see a decrease in battery life.

Hydra has a stockspeed undervolt kernel and i have been looking at king x kernels as well since ppl seem to be satisfied with that as well.

I posted this a like 2 days ago, just wondering if I did these addition to my phone, would it be what I'm looking for? Battery life and getting rid of unwanted apps that cant be removed.

I have to ask this question its killing me not knowing.. When I extract a ROM file to the desktop do I put everything into a single folder and just mount them onto my sd card or do i put every file/folder onto the sd card? Im a noob! help.. lOl
