I don't know why the site keeps doing that.

It was fixed through rom manager for a bit but it broke other things so it has been pulled.

OK. Thanks. I'll give it a try. That link worked.
Question about the backup....
Once you get to the point where you are confirming that you have root, it's then mentioned that you do the backup because you are already there. So you run the backup procedure. Where does it get stored? Is this the whole Nandroid thing?
I just didn't see any more info on the backup and was curious about where it gets stored and how you would access that again if you needed to.
Thanks!
Yes, that is a nandroid backup that is stored on the SD card.
Ok, thanks for the reply. My last question is that once you install the drivers, you should see your phone listed in the device manager. I then arrive at this step:
STEP 2: FLASHING THE unrEVOked 3.21 TOOL
Start phone in normal mode
How do you start the phone in normal mode once you get the drivers installed? Aren't you in this diagnostics/HBOOT screen? I just want to make sure I don't power the phone down/reboot or whatever if I'm not supposed to do that.
Thank you very much for your help on this!
Newbie needs some help. My Incredible is stock 2.2 and I have the latest OTA Verizon update(just got it yesterday). Following step 1 I installed the usb drivers as instructed and the Androdid ADB shows in device manager. Followed step 2 exactly and when I start Unrevoked it finds my phone and I get the "OK" box and all is well so far. Then the phone reboots a few times, but one thing Im finding is that on the last reboot the Android ADB does not reappear in device manager and Unrevoked gets stuck at the "waiting for Root- Safe to Restart" screen. I have left it as long as 20 minutes and nothing. I checked and I do not have the superuser icon nor is S-Off.
I have run the program 5 different times on 2 different computers( Win XP and 7). Could it be something with the latest OTA update?
Any advice would greatly be apprecieated.
Thanks
John
Can't root after the latest OTA. Sorry- known issue and people are working on a workaround but for the time being you need to just stay put.
Thanks for the help, I'm excited to get mine rooted as soon as the issues get worked out.
so i should be getting my new droid incredible in a few days, could we downgrade it then root and then upgrade to the update via a method i saw about how to upgrade without loosing root.
