Tried it tonight and it works like a charm. The issues I was having with my 3G connection are gone.

It's worth noting that the SD card needs to be formatted to FAT32 or else it won't take the update. The guide failed to mention that last I checked.

No, I did this on Windows Vista.

Worked like a charm when I popped in the FAT32 card.

Question for Kermie and JK, we are rooted and have 2.2 + all the other goodies such as wifi tether for free... WHY go back to unroot with the same program???
I have got to be missing something here, please educate me
Also, as I am rooted and have the "Free" WIFI tether, is there an app for "free" tethered connection as in connected with the USB???
I have PDAnet, free version, but no HTTPS...

This thread is intended for those that upgraded with the ota but would like to downgrade to get root again. As for usb tether it would be better to open a new thread on it. I hardly use tether but I bet others that won't look here do.

so this will work if we update to the 2.2 OTA? or just the leaks? (if theres a difference)
