Hydra Kernel with new Froyo OTA Leaked
I loaded the leaked Froyo OTA rom on my Dinc and it runs great with everything full functional. I want to use hydra's 0.8 OC kernel to boost my speed even more. I had this kernel running when I still had Android 2.1 and loved it. Has anyone tested this yet? Hydra's website says that the kernel will not support the camera in Froyo. Has anyone tried it yet?

It works with the leaked update and any other froyo rom except for cm6. In cm6 the hydra kernel causes tearing.

OK I'll give it a try I guess.... Thanks

I just tried the hydra kernel and my phone was slower. Instead of getting 40 Mflops with the stock kernel I was only getting 22Mflops with the hydra. I don't recommend it until hydra comes out with a newer version specifically designed for Froyo. Thankfully I did a nandroid backup before upgrading, so I'm doing a restore as we speak.

Thanks for testing this out Mike, I was wondering about Hydra Kernal as well. We'll just have to wait for an update on those.

No the hydra kernels will not work properly with the froyo ROMs. The froyo ROMs require the .32 kernel and radio 2.0 in order for everything to work. You need to stick with the kernel that comes with the ROM for now until someone can dissect it.
