replacing the cell signal bars with a numeric dBm reading
I've searched around, and the closest things I can find are Real Signal (which puts an app in the notification bar) and Mobile Signal Widget (which is actually pretty close to what I want), but have any of you heard of a hack that will simply replace the useless VZ signal bars with the dBm level in the notification bar?

Just before you posted, I happened to change the status bar to show me. along with the bars, -109dbm (as of this moment).
But it's not from any App, iit's an option built in to the CoreDroid ROM I'm running on my DInc2.
As to an App, AppBrain turns one up immediately upon searching for "dbm notification": Signal Notification. "Now you can put the real signal strength at your finger tips in your status bar or use one of our great home screen signal strength widgets." Costs $.99. Sounds like what you want.
thanks, I'll look into signal notification, but I'm really looking to replace the bars with the number. I've heard of a couple roms doing this, so I figure there must be a way to just modify the current signal bars.
Signal Notification is free on the Android market
