Low on Space Error Message
Hello, ive had my incredible since May and I just started recieving an error message stating my Application date space is low. It tries to tell me how to clear it, but the message is too long, so I cant tell what it says. I read that the phone(both the Micor SD card and the phone memory) need to be defragmented. Did that, still has an error. Any ideas?? Thanks!

First question- are you rooted? Second question- have you gone through your installed apps and removed any you don't use? Facebook and Twitter seem to be big space hogs so if you don't need either of them it's best to freeze them if you're rooted with Titanium Backup Pro installed.

I had this problem too. Both with stock 2.1, 2.2 and CM6.1 I found that a temporary fix was to uninstall some unneeded apps. BUT a lot of other forums were saying that pandora is the culprit. Try uninstalling that and doing a reboot.

Hi Enlightened! I should have done a search BEFORE posting this, as I see others have had the same issue. I cleared the data on facebook/internet and some other things and the error message has dissapeared, for now. Thanks!!!!
Non-rooted BTW.

Just keep an eye on ones that have a lot and clear them regularly, usually just a couple .

Have never seen this on my DInc (not rooted).
I did change the camera to save to my SD Card instead of the onboard, but with 8gig onboard you should not have any problems with that either.
I have a ton of apps and still have 6+ gig onboard and a 32 gig card.

It's not really the 8 gig memory but the temp type memory , 150mb or something similar.
I had it when I first got mine and it was something to do with Facebook sync.

well, the big problem i was seeing was that it was occurring even though i had a ton of space left over.
So it must be a caching issue.
and yea, clearing app cache could be a temporary fix.
If only there was some way to clear cache.... lol

Go to your menu and manage applications. Then you can go through the apps one at a time and clear caches. I believe I remember hearing there was an app that could do that automatically but for some reason I don't completely trust that and would rather do it manually.

There are many reasons for this issue...sometimes it's a legitimate warning, that you're running out of memory. I've also found that it is tied to some specific apps...I download a game, and i started getting that message, with more than 400mb of app memory. When I deleted the game, the message went away. I agree with everyone in this thread, delete crap you don't need. Good luck!
