New (Free) Incredible OR Refurbished Droid 2?

Many people have given me excellent advice regarding the Incredible in a previous thread....now I have another question. What have people's experience been with Refurbished devices? I have the option of a free NEW Incredible (through Best Buy) or a Refurbished Droid 2 through Verizon. I am heading to the store to play around with both (have been snowed in the past couple of days) to see if I prefer the physical keyboard on the 2. I think that will be sticking point, as both as comparable features, speed, (2 has a smaller camera), and are about the same thickness and weight.

However, I have never purchased a Refurbished device from Verizon before, and while they say they hold the same warranty and undergo a series of tests...i'm leery. How has quality been? Does it come "looking new" (like no scratches, scuffs, etc.) Even though I will likely add scratches and scuffs to it, and I know it sounds weird, I'd feel more comfortable if I were the one to add the character marks.

Also, the Refurb is $50. If I go with the new Incredible, I've been reading I may need to purchase an extended battery ($40) and I will need a microSD card for music ($20-30). I haven't read nearly as many bad things concerning the 2's battery and it comes with a 8gb card installed....

Don't know about buying refurbished but had a voyager that gave out they replaced with refurbished and it had scratches.

As for Inc I have one and love it. Landscape keyboard is awesome. Swype is awesome, as is ultra keyboard (similar with more features and in the apple market.) Also my mom has an Inc and was really Leary of on screen keyboard, but she now does everything (text, email, web, Facebook, twitter, etc) on her phone, which she never did anything but web and email before even on computer. And she loves swype in landscape. Does not require nearly the precision when using the keyboard.

I think the Incredible outperforms the Droid II when it's new. My GF's Droid II just seems slow compared to mine. As far as refurbs, I haven't had one of those since I had an XV6700 and it was a POS. The paint came off quickly, buttons didn't work well, etc...
