App/Widget to toggle pattern lock?
Anyone know of a good app or widget to toggle on/off the pattern lock? Normally when I carry my phone around I don't have the pattern lock enabled because its a hassle to enter it in everytime, but when I go to friends' houses for example, I like to turn it on because I'll leave my phone around and my friends are prone to pranking me

If there isn't an app for that there should be, I like that idea

I believe that is one of the options offered by SwitchPro Widget

Quick settings has this option.. I keep quick settings as a hidden icon in my notification bar so at all times I can quickly swipe down my notification bar, click quick settings and then toggle brightness, wifi, etc... faster than a widget if you are in an app that isn't full screen also.. :-)

Hm so I tried out SwitchPro Widget, specifically the pattern lock toggle, and it has the same problem my old widget does.
When I turn it on, it takes me to the pattern lock config, where I enter my pattern. I turn off my screen and turn it back on again. It doesn't ask me for a pattern lock. I click the pattern lock toggle again in the widget. It takes me to a different config screen asking me to confirm my saved pattern. I swipe the same pattern. I turn off my screen and turn it back on. Still doesn't ask me for a pattern lock... anyone else have this same issue?

I just tried setting up a screen lock the manual way (ie going through Settings) and I got the same behavior...it just never seems to ask me for a pattern lock! I'm stumped...hopefully someone has an idea.
EDIT: I figured it out. There's another setting in Settings > Security called "Lock phone after" and it was set to 5 minutes. I think this means that it will only enable the pattern lock after the phone has been idle for 5 minutes. I changed it to Immediately and now the pattern lock takes effect as soon as I turn off the screen. HOWEVER, it would be nice if everytime I toggle it on and off I wouldn't have to enter a new pattern.

I have the same problem as the original poster. I was hoping to see a solution here. First let me state that, just like the OP, I want it to lock the screen *and then present me with the 4-digit PIN SECURITY screen* when I unlock it (by sliding). I had "LockScreen" installed on my Motorola Droid X and it did exactly that! However, I cannot get that app or any other "lock screen" apps to do this on my HTC Incredible. I don't know if I got lucky with the "LockScreen" app that it did this on the Droid X, or if there's something different about the Incredible where none of these apps are capable of doing this.
I have it set to Lock (as in requiring the 4-digit PIN to get access again) after 15 minutes, because having it set to immediate would be a pain. I don't want to enter it every time the screen times out. However, there are times, like leaving my desk for a few minutes where I want the phone SECURED immediately with my PIN. What app will do this? I don't want to go into settings and change this to on/off all the time.
