Application download from Market stuck at Installing
Trying to install Live Scores by Sportacular from the Market. It downloaded and shows Installing but it just sits there. I have tried rebooting. I don't see it in Android System Info so I can't delete it. I can't figure out a way to re-download? Any ideas??

Happens sometimes for reasons I can't figure out. Check your "download" folder on your SD Card using an app like Astro. Sometimes there's a file named download in there that you can manually install.

Happened to me last night. Using Astro to check the SD card's download folder did the trick. It was named Download _ (insert # here) so just look at the time stamp of the file and you should find it without a problem.

Will it hurt if you delete the items remaining in that folder if you are no longer updating apps?

The downloaded items on your SD card? As long as it's not a system file (for example, the tethering bin file if you didn't put it in a separate folder) it shouldn't matter. I just deleted a few apk's with no bad effects that I notice.

Cool...thanks!

I would cancel the download and then try installing again and it would go through. Though, this has been happening a lot lately! It's been pretty much every manual update.

Any other suggestions? Nothing in my downloads folder. Assuming I am looking in correct directory: /mnt/sdcard/download

Can you go directly to the dev's website and download from there (if it's a free app)?

found a solution: In Settings/Applications/Manage, open the Market app and then clear cache and uninstall updates.
