Previous iPhone Users-Apple Earphones w. mic & remote
For those of you who have converted from the Apple 3Gs to the HTC Incredible, do you know if the Apple Earphones w/ mic and remote are compatible with the Incredible? If not, which functions are not operational? I'm still on the lookout for earbuds that can play/pause, next track, previous track, volume up, volume down, and pick up calls.

Aside from being able to pause and fast forward songs it does not work well at all. HTC supposedly has a headset that plugs into the usb port that has these features.

That's compeletely stupid. What would I want to plug in a wired headset into the side of the phone. The whole point is to be able to listen to music and talk on the phone while the phone is in your pocket. It's not going to work very well if the headset is plugged into the side. That's why most devices have the 2.5mm or 3.5mm jack on the top or bottom.

Wait, so the apple earphones can play/pause, and skip tracks (repeat the current track, go back a track, go forward a track)? Does the microphone work or no?

The iphone headphones are not fully compatible with the incredible.
I find the nexus one headphones to be awesome and work perfectly with the incredible. They even have Andy the android on one of the buds.
However, unlike the iphone headphones, the nexus one headphones only give you the option to pick/hang up calls, pause/play, and next/previous track. There is no volume control on them.
Getting a hold of these headphones is also pretty tricky. You need to buy them off someone who has a nexus one, as they do not sell on their own.

i have the skullcandy full metal jacket earbuds made for the iPhone and they work the same on the inc. as they do on the iPhone. they have an inline mic with a single button that will answer and end calls and when your just listening to music it is the pause/play button. And as a added bonus skullcandy has an awesome lifetime warranty and they sound great!

Bump. I'm looking for the same type of earbuds with those functions. Anyone have a pair they can recommend?

you can play/pause, forward/backward, and adjust volume with your skullcandy ones on the stock htc music player?
