Search People Question

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else but I did not find it via search.

I wanted to know if there was a way to block having Facebook populate the < Device Contacts > list. I would prefer to just be able to access the phone numbers / email addresses, etc. of the contacts that I have visible in the People application.

My gripe comes from the fact that when I go to messages and want to type a new message, when I start typing in the name of the person I want, or if I hit the person icon, it searches through all my contacts, which includes linked online directories. I wouldn't mind if I could toggle this off or have it separately searchable.

Anybody know of a way to accomplish this? I do have some of my People contacts linked to their Facebook profiles but I do not want all of my Facebook friends populating my phone.

Ya, man, Just go into your Peoples application then Menu > View

from there just select what account types you want to show on your contacts.

I have mine set to were i only see my phone and google contacts, and i leave facebook unchecked, cuz i don't want to see all the facebook people in "Peoples".

I also have it to were it'll only show the contact if it has a number. Cuz on my google account, i do have a lot of family that don't have numbers, cuz their little cousins and what not.

Ok, so that didn't work at all. I already have facebook unchecked but when i search for a contact it still goes through all of them including facebook...

Go to each contact and click the link looking thing in the right hand corner when you open the contact and unlink them from facebook.

I want them to be linked to facebook though. I just want to only search the contacts in my phone and not on facebook when im under people and hit search to find a specific contact

Hmmmm. IDK then, i know sometimes my phone doesn't sync right away, have you tried resetting your phone and letting it resync. Maybe you dont' need to reset, but i know mine was having some issues with that. BUT if not that, then IDK.

Try checking it, and then going to see if you see all your FB contacts, then go back and uncheck it. That might work too.

IDK mine did it instantly though. it was just specific contact i was having issues with, when i was having trouble

No i don't see my facebook contacts under people. Under people i just see my phone contacts, BUT when i hit the search button to find a specific contact it searches through phone contacts and facebook contacts. It will do it for you to if you hit the search button in ur people app
