New lcd screen vs old amoled screen

I just got my new refurb phone in the mail, and I do not like the new lcd screens the incredibles are shippimg with...

The white boot up screen is more pink than white, and in general the white is not bright and gives off a real pink dull look.

    I want my amoled back

What is lcd better for? Outdoors? Im trying to find a positive here... Haha

    Thanks
    Kevin

I hate to say it, but I agree with this. Everything that has been reported said the Nexus One and Evo were getting the SLCD but the Incredible was going to stay the amoled since switching those two were going to free up availability.

Correct. My buddy just recently spoke to HTC about it as he was getting a replacement and was iffy about the slcd. HTC told him that only the nexus and desire were switching to slcd. I hadn't heard about the evo but they made it very clear that the incredible would NOT be switching.

Well maybe it is just that one phone why don't you explain it to Verizon and ask for another ...you never know ..either way best of luck and I hope it works out for you.

I hope inc doesn't switch. I'm VERY happy with the amoled screen.

    Just further clarification:

HTC announced that their plan was to slowly switch out the Nexus One, the Desire, and other "select" phones. As of right now, most Desires and N1s are still shipping with AMOLED. The only phone confirmed to have switched so far is the Desire on Canada's Telus network. N1 and Desire in select markets will start their S-LCD rollout soon.

As for a pink hue, that's not a sign of an LCD, it's poorly configured AMOLED, send it back. While AMOLED are known for their excellent blacks, they don't do white as well as an LCD. Black is a natural color for an emissive technology, while white is natural color for a backlit technology. Hope this helps.

EDIT: In the leaked OTAs, Verizon has changed the Incredible's bootup animation from "3.7" AMOLED Display" to "3.7" High resolution display," or words to that effect. So yes, S-LCD is always a possibility, but it hasn't happened yet. If it does, I might be willing to trade my AMOLED display straight up for an S-LCD, if anyone wants to make that swap.
