Its not as hard as you think. If you like when I get home on monday if your around I can walk you through it.
Here if you can't wait I'll give a quick run down. I am assuming you do have root.
Follow this guide to s-off.This is going to make this a whole lot easier. And doing s-off only takes a few mins. If that.
public:forever [RootWiki] <---s-off guide Read the whole thing. THE WHOLE THING. Understand what you are doing.
Then put this PB31IMG that is below on the root of your SD card that adrynalyne has been so kind to make and host for us. Delete all other PB31IMGs off of SD card too. Boot into Hboot and let the phone do the rest. Just make sure you wait till the phone is done before touching it. Give it about 5 mins to be safe.

10 mins and you'll have s-off and a updated radio.
Insert usual disclainers here

Ok, so here's what I have done till this point....first I rooted with this after the root, it gave me specs of Baseband Version - 1.00.03.04.06 Software Number - 1.22.605.2 Kernel Version 2.6.29root@Dell Inspiron#1. After that I formatted my SD card to FAT32 then followed Hot Taco Cheese's steps on how to update my radio which consisted of installing the PB file into the root of my SD card, going into bootloader, manually reboot, erasing the PB file through Astro, Installing the file you rename "UPDATE" on the SD Card, go into recovery, select install UPDATE.zip file and reboot.......here's where i'm stuck, for some reason once it's going through the motions, after a couple of seconds it'll stop and say that the process was aborted all on its own. WTF! I've done it several times, all with the same negative outcome. What am I doing wrong?!?!?!.......to be honest with you, I kind of just want to Download a ROM through ROM Manager and flash it and see wtf happens since i'm soo frustrated hahaha.
First calm down and take a deep breath. I understand your frustrated. And now for the big question..
After you do the PB31 and go into recovery is it the stock recovery? IE red triangle with an exclamation point?
I'm heading out for the weekend but if no one else jumps in here and you would still like the newer radio feel free to get me on gtalk on monday.

The instructions don't talk about going into recovery, they say they phone will recognize the PB file, do its thing and then ask if you want to install it or something of that sort.......let me go ahead and do it in recovery mode

Tried installing the file through the recovery mode and still nothing..........it still said process aborted! AGH!!!!!!!
i've been googling the problem and had a question......probably a dumb one, but does it matter if i'm on WiFi or 3G during the process? I really hope people don't laugh at me for asking, but I was reading a thread on Android Forums about the same problem and someone mentioned it, I SWEAR!
Are you trying to install the radio or a rom? The radio is this. Put the file on the microSD card, renamed to update.zip and placed in the root folder on the micro. The highest level of the micro. Turn the phone off. Then, hold down the power and volume down button. On the menu that comes up, select recovery. Next, it should go to a picture of the handset with a red triangle and exclamation point over it. At this point, hit power and volume up at the same time. Another menu will come up. Select recover from SD card. At this point, it should find the update file and start its job. I'm not sure if you had done one click root before, but if you have, that might make the process different. And you MUST make sure not to attempt to install the same radio over the existing on your handset. That can brick your phone. Hope that helps.
Yeah, I already did the one click root and now I want to update the radio...........jk, when you say place the update.zip on the highest level of the micro, what and how is that done?
