VOICE DIALING WITH FROYO - Yaaaaaayyyyyy!!!!!!!!
I Just rooted my phone and installed the leaked Froyo 2.2 and to my pleasant surprise i can voice dial from bluetooth headset without ever touching my phone. Just made 4 calls and my phone is on the other side of the room!
None of the posts or feature lists mention this. So if anyone has debated upgrading this feature IMHO makes the upgrade worth it.
So go for it!

Damn HTC is really outdoing themselves with these new after market features. 720p video, wireless tether, an unrooted flashlight app, AND Bluetooth voice dialing? Yes, please lol. Not to mention they are the first manufacturer to release the Froyo update, even with Sense. IMO, HTC is really making Motorola look bad.

Wow that's awesome! I'm waiting for the official update as I'm too chicken **** to root

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to use the voice dial from bluetooth. Can someone point me in the right direction???

Bluetooth voice dialing is the feature I've been looking forward to most from froyo. All the other stuff is awesome, but frankly I was a bit pissed when I upgraded to my first smartphone from a 4 year old motorola flip phone and lost bluetooth voice dialing in the process. This puts the world right again. :-)

With my headset (motorola h790), and just about everyone i have ever had. One press on the answer button starts the voice dial on the phone. It prompts you to say a command and calls. If you say "Call joe blow" it repeats the name and calls it or you can say "dial 839 555 1212" and it repeats it and dials it. Unfortunately it doesn't give you the option to repeat the name if it doesn't translate it correctly. But hey at least we finally got something that actually dials truly hands free.

Your headset has to be capable of doing it.

I've tried 3 bluetooth handsets (all relatively new models) that have worked with other phones, but they do not work with Froyo. (At least HTC Desires anyway).
Blueant ST3
Blueant Z9i
Jawbone Icon
I don't think this is a handset issue. I think maybe it's a release issue. (Some phones seem to support it, and others don't. Has HTC removed this feature from there releases of Froyo)?
