I'm typing, but no text appears.
I use Chomp SMS, and have a couple different E-Mail accounts. This problem applies to both. About every 5th or 6th SMS or email, when I type, I get no text to appear on the screen. When I turn the phone to landscape, the text area is grayed out. I usually have to open and close the app once or twice before I can type. Any ideas?

Just bumping this thread looking for an answer, and adding a little more information about the problem. I still have the problem of trying to type, and having no text appear. After opening and closing the app a few times, it will usually fix itself. It doesn't matter what app I am using, be it Chomp SMS, the stock SMS, email, Gmail, internet browser, etc... Has this happened to anyone else? It is getting really really frustrating. Thanks.

This happened to me earlier tonight! I have tried a couple of times to install the latest Froyo release. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
I don't use any apps from the market for sms or email.

I haven't tried doing anything with the operating system or rooting or anyting. I'm still running 2.1. It has been doing it for a while. I guess it could be an app causing it. I just hate to do a master re-set to find out.

This has happened to me atleast 10 times in the stock sms app

I think I found the answer to my problem, its just that I don't know exactly what was causing my problem. I finally got frustrated enough and did a complete reset. I only loaded up a couple essential apps, and everything is working great. Half the apps I had I rarely used anyway. I'll start loading up the apps slowly, so in case one of those was the culprit, I'll be able to figure it out.

did you find the culprit?
mkerm8, did you find the culprit when you added back the apps you had deleted? I would love to not have to do a hard reset if you know which program is causing the problem.
Thanks!
