Hi all; my turn to weigh in with my .03 cents. My wife got her Dinc about 3 weeks ago, and I got my X 1 week ago. Now we're spending a lot of time comparing our apples & oranges lol. You really can't make a decision between the two just based on internet reviews and Youtube videos. I've spent a lot of time trying to tweak my X so that it does the things the Incredible does already, and if you visit the X forums you'll find many folks doing the same. From my personal, hands-on experience I feel the Incredible is MUCH more fluid and natural. The X is a bit disjointed, requiring a few software add-ons to help it out. The pluses for the X are the BIG screen (which of course means BIG keyboard and BIG picture/movie viewing area), superior battery life. However, for me & what I use the device for (emailing, texts, calendar/agenda items along with some surfing and music) the Incredible makes those tasks easier. Less steps involved. Plus, the Inc has a very polished look & feel to the screens & icons. While it's just been not even 1 week for me with my X, I'm already leaning towards returning it in favor of the Incredible. As much as I enjoy the big screen and fiddling with the X and getting new software, I don't want to have to spend too much time just to get the phone working the way *I* would like it. I agree with the OP on virtually all counts concerning the "intuitive" HTC interface. I understand everyone has different preferences and priorities, so I wanted to express mine for the benefit of all.

I would agree with marcjac. I had the Incredible for a couple months before getting the DX (and hanging onto the DInc). It all comes down to the screen. If you want the big screen, the DX is the way to go. I found the fit and finish and the overall ergonomics of the DInc much (MUCH!) better and am back to the DInc. I don't use my phone for too much video so the screen size is not as important to me (although typing on the bigger screen sure is nice), and the DX was simply annoying when in my pocket. I also had WiFi problems and the VPN client on the DX is just plain broken. Both are great phones and one is not better than the other, but I'm all about the DInc and I've got a DX just sitting here not being used to prove it.

Ha. Well hey if you want I'll trade you my Dinc for your X straight up. Complete with case and extra steinheil screen protector even
I love that bigger screen.

The X is a better phone, (with the HDMI and HUGE screen) but it isn't that much better. i'll stick with my Inc until my 2 year contract ends. By then, tons of amazing phones will be out

Better, well if you really want a huge screen, and think that you're really gonna connect it to your HDTV to play movies, that's why I have a blu-ray. My cousin has it and it is a great platform, just like the INC. I did the same comparison and I really like the smaller screen/feel of the INC. It fits it my pocket great, it pretty darn light weight, and with the larger capacity battery, runs just as long.
If you desire a larger screen and have room in your purse or like a clip on holster then the X is good. My opinion means nothing, I'm just happy to see great phones available that are an alternative to the Apple etes. ATT bites anyway....

I'm with cerisecons on this. As I mentioned above, I did have the X. Exchanged it this weekend and my DInc is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. From what I've seen posted online and from what I've experienced in person with the X, it boils down to screen size as THE reason to get one. If you take the screen size out of the equation, I feel the DInc is a much more "functional" device; better, more tightly integrated apps that come with the phone. But as I also said before, everyone has their own opinion, and these are two GREAT devices. I don't feel you can lose either way. I would agree that while the X will fit in my shirt pocket, the DInc fits in there and doesn't look like I've got a pack of Marlboro's in there lol.

I agree whole completely, my Inc will do everything I want to do. When my 2 years is up, there will be enough improvements in phones to really make a big difference.
From BB Curve to Incredible, what a change!
