I know there are a million Battery Issues threads but I just needed to vent.

Please forgive me, but I needed to vent to all my fellow Incredible owners. I have had horrible battery life since almost day one, mind you I realize some of it is due to my settings and usage. The latest gripe is how I put the phone on charge around 10pm and went to bed, woke up around 7:30am and take phone off charge. I use juice plotter for their widget with time left data and its showing 7hours til dead. So I go ahead and do the unplug shutoff power cycle nonsense for an hour having cycled it three times in that span. Finally get going turn phon back on and guess what?, I only have 6hrs59mins of usage before dead battery. How am I supposed to use my phone to any extent other than standby through the course of my day with walking around with an extension cord and the charger. I love the phone, I love everything about it, but even my 2 year old well worn Samsung I760 with a weak battery got better daily life than this. Im not looking for any magic answers, I just needed to vent to likeminded people.

    Thanks
    Sean

i got mine on release and my bat left reads like 18 to 24 hours per charge with out the charge trick. i think i just lucked out with a decent battery. also i can give you my usage

    19 hours since un-plugged,

    OEM Stock incredible battery

    Gmail sync set on push
Hotmail sync set on never, only when i open app.
    Facebook set on never.
    Score Mobile set on never
    Wifi and 3G both on

47 % tv guide: ( that thing needs a update, cpu total usage was 1m and 39 seconds lol)
    16% cell standby
    13% Phone Idle
    9% Android system
    6% Voice calls
    6% Wifi
    3% Display

24% bat left. guessing i could squeeze about 5 more moderate use hours out of it.

that being said. I have had great battery life but i was using task killer. yesterday i charged my phone to full and did a hard reset. afterwards i Loaded all 65 of my programs and installed and updated and logged into all of them. so yesterday i had some HARD Hard usage and my battery didn't take a dive untill i picked up TV guide. So in my opinion if after about 2 weeks of having your phone and doing at least one 5% dead to full charge. you should be able to last along time. take it back to VW.

you don't need to do that with lithium batteries.

I have found that if you put the phone in your pocket do 10 jumping jacks plug the phone back in and while phone is charging you sing amazing grace while putting your finger on your nose it really helps with battery life. All kidding aside that is my one and only gripe with the phone! I don't want to have to turn things off and on it's a smart phone! So that's why I am going to go ahead and bite the bullet on the 2150 extended battery even if it does change the look of the phone.

I have had the phone since April 29th. I am a pretty heavy FB, Twitter, and Gmail user... so the settings are what they are and im not changing them. Also while home I use WiFi as much as possible to cut down on my data usage. I know its an unlimited plan but I dont want to get used to the freedom of killing 5-10 Gb a month lol. Yes it is the stock battery and yes I will be looking at a higher MAH battery soon. I just hope HTC comes out with a fix for the charging issue.

yeah its bad if you use those things heavily, but its still a great phone
Why do ppl call our phones, "Dinc?" Makes it sound like a puny crappy phone or a sound effect when you flick something

You have Android now. Stop whining and complaining that iphone was easy/better... why the hell did you switch for?
If youre going to change phones, be sure you're able to accept "CHANGE" and yes thats a change in how things are done. Its plain and simple

Btw, have a nifty day! (^_^)
    Now... wheres my beer???

Get the 2150 extended htc battery... I've been on mine almost non stop for 8 hrs and have 52% left. Ive been streaming last.fm for 5 hours of that time, including non stop internet browsing. This bsttery is awesome. I would get about 8 hrs average on my stock battery with limited use. Now I'm non stop use lookung at 16 hrs

I've been doing the power the phone off battery tweak to get that power. Plus a car dock and charger
