BB Bold 9650 Vs. HTC Incredible

I've been wanting the BB Bold for a long time now and for some reason, on a whim I just got the Incredible. I guess I was really amazed at what it can do and totally forgot about the BB for a day and got the Incredible. ANYWAY... long story short, the Bold is finally out and I am having second thoughts. I kind of want to sell the Incredible on eBay (make a little profit) and use an existing upgrade on another family member's number to get the Bold.

I know the BB is undeniably inferior to the Incredible, but I guess all I really need the phone to do is make calls, occasionally browse the web (to check scores for my teams) and run my social networking apps.

I am also aware that comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges, but if anyone can share their opinion on the matter, it would probably help me sleep at night lol. I have never been a Blackberry user so I am not familiar with the Blackberry on a long term basis.

    Thanks

    Droid Incredible FTW

Sorry i will never touch Blackberry after having Android. The way i see it is why limit yourself with RIM's OS and not have as many features when you are going to have to pay the same $30 data charge per a month for either phone.

    Android > Crackberry

Blackbery = God awfully slow user experience. Trust me, if u have never owned a blackberry and go from an Android phone to a blackberry that is a drastic mistake. Android is so swift and fast. With blackberry u will have to do so many battery pulls its ridiculous. Blackberries really aren't even that cool straight up. They was cool last year but we off that now.

Now if u have previously owned a blackerry i would just say good luck and farewell. Blackberries are the ugly kid that u still have to love just because its your kid where as Android is the kid who is a future actress and model.

i could see why u would want one. i always wanted one till i got one and it felt cheap and moved slower then my flip phone. I guess its a nice experience... sike

I had a Curve for 2 years before getting the Inc, and wow, what a difference. It served its purpose and took a beating and never missed a beat but My BB was so slow, the only hard thing for me was I was so used to the keyboard I could type without looking at it. Seriously, i would not go back if you gave me a BB.

I had the Pearl, Curve, Storm and Tour. I thought BB was all I ever wanted, but tried out the Moto Droid when it came out and will NEVER go back to a BB again. My wife recently quit using her Tour and is now using my old Moto Droid and they said the same thing. There is just no comparison and I really cannot see how someone would transition well from the Android to BB OS. Some long time BB users have probably gone back for whatever reason, but everything you mentioned as needing in a phone, the Inc options are far superior.

A bold instead of an Incredible? Not even if you gave me 3 of them... for free.

Unless you are absolutely required to use a BB device for work. Android all the way.

It's not Apples / Oranges, it's like comparing a Ferrari to a Ford Taurus.

Sure they both do the same thing "theoretically"... but... hardly a comparison.

thanks everyone for your input, ive been talking to my friends who have all switched from bb to either the motorola droid or htc incredible and they were shocked to even hear me say that i wanted to switch from android to bb. one friend even threatened to not be my friend anymore lol. i guess i was more attracted to the "lifestyle" of a bb user more than the device itself. the "appeal" and the community (crackberry users) of bb was what was most enticing, but in the end, i know i'll be much more happy with the inc, so i will stick with it. thanks everyone for your input

not to beat a dead horse, but even with the beefed up processor and memory on the Bold 9650 will it still run sluggish enough to have to do a hard reset on it?

I loved my BB Curve until I played with the Motorola Droid and could not wait for my 2 yr cotnract was up. I skipped the Motorola and got the DInc on the first day and have been loving it ever since. The wife still has her BB Curve for another month and she HATES it and tries to steal my DInc..

i wish there was a way to just test drive devices for like a week or so. i have never owned a bb so maybe thats why i have such bb envy. if i experience it in my own life, maybe i will realize just how silly it really is to downgrade from the inc to the bold =\
