Outlook on Inc = 3 apps
Thought this might be helpful... I'm using three 3rd party apps to simulate Outlook on the Inc.
1) Touchdown - To sync with MS exchange server at work. Native would not sync will all my mail folders (or even give you an option to select which folders to sync with!). TD can also sync contacts and calendars and tasks (which I don't use).
I elected not to sync contacts as I prefer the native contact list, as it lists in last name alpha. There is a setting in TD to search the native contact list for the email address pick list.
I elected not to sync calendar because...
2) Calendar Pad Pro - The only calendar that I've found that uses text in monthly and weekly views. Uses the native calendars database. Pretty good page layouts. Hopefully they will soon allow full color customization of catagories and such.
3) DejaOffice - For Notes!! DJO actually syncs all of Outlook (not mail), but only syncs thru USB to Outlook and not exchange servers. Requires companionlink on the computer. Wireless sync in the pipeline. Manual in the pipeline. A young app, but clearly serious about filling a need on Android. This app would be an outta-the-park app if they sync'd with exchange servers, but for the moment it's fine for Notes (and Tasks for those of you who use Tasks).
As far as sync accounts... I use TD's sync for email and the native activesync for contacts and calendar. I imagine this is a bit of a drain on battery. I'm hoping (like others) that 2.2 will address the exchange server problems and I can dump Touchdown.
