I got that message, that I was low on space - even though I wasn't about 2 or 3 weeks into having my Incredible (and after the 2.1 update 1). I got the message about 4 or 5 times over a week. Then it went away and I haven't seen it since. I have to believe it was a problem with one of the apps that has since been corrected. I have not reset and I use the native HTC Mail and SMS.

Of course, since the proper way to charge the battery is to charge it to green (with the power on), power down the phone (light will go out, then come back red) and let charge till green; you will effectively reboot the phone once a day anyway ... which should be more than sufficient to minimize any memory hole issues.

I have had this occur once in the past, and now again, 750mb memory, 641mb available... I had removed unwanted programs each time, as typically there are several that are not used or wanted anymore... I am going to try the above proposed solution, a hard reboot is out of the question.
Memory volume is still so far above the old Blackberry, so I'm not too concerned, Verizon may be my next call.........

After deleting some unused and worthless programs I had tried, and cycling the DI off and on a couple of times, an update came up from OTA updates, after updating one of the programs, the notice went away.
My guess is that there is some sort of data issue that gets resolved after updating and or adding a program, but not after deleting a program...
If this occurs again on my phone, I will delete any unused an or worthless programs, cycle the phone, then add a program. If this works, the issue is solved. Hopefully the new 2.2 will solve the issue.
Whatever you do, DO NOT HARD BOOT, it wastes so much time and effort in getting the DI just right.

i did a hard reset after trying everthing else.
It's a simple procedure if u use gmail to.back.up calendar and address book. And I have had not had memory issues since (3 weeks) I pull the memory chip out just to be sure I will not lose my pics and music.

I'm not concerned with the email / calendar setup, that all resumes from my backup and Exchange push, it's the layout of the phone / re-downloading programs etc that is such a total waste of time. I would love to be able to have a Ghost function available through back up, that would be perfect.
The memory alert went away and has not returned, as said before hopefully 2.2 handles all the little issues. No OS can be perfect on all types of phones, each will have a glitch that will be handled by the programmers, hopefully sooner than later.

I did a hard re-set. I didn't have too many apps and it didn't take long to reinstall my e-mail accounts, SWYPE, and some other apps. The "low on space" notification hasn't reappeared. All programs seem to be working better.
What does DI mean?

DI= Droid Incredible

i have had these issues with my Incredible. With approx. 500 mb of phone storage remaining, i keep getting the warnings. and if i keep installing apps, things start to force close, and the phone is no longer usable.
edit: happened three times, and twice after hard resets
-
I've had this happen 3 times in the past and have been able to get rid of it by uninstalling and reinstalling some apps. It happened today and I can't get rid of it no matter what I do and now it seems I can't download any apps. They just sit there in "starting download" status. All I was doing today was updating some apps and it happened after updating 2 apps and I still had 2 apps to update. I even went and deleted some text messages and emails. Anybody know of a way to remove this without doing a hard reset? I have about 110 apps installed with 400mb left in internal memory and really don't want to reinstall them.
Any ideas?
