What would you expect from Verizon at this point?

Overnight on July 12/13, my DInc2 started cycling. I popped out the battery and it continued. I took it to a Verizon store where it was confirmed and noted. They told me to call Verizon for a replacement. I got that on Tuesday July 17th. That phone wouldn't activate. I spent an hour on the phone with CS trying. That was my 5th phone in under a year. They've all malfunctioned one way or another. Three cycled/froze, one charging port broke, and one never activated. Thrown in there was a Motorola Droid X2 at some point. That piece of garbage froze on me left and right. I got that as an option in the middle of all the malfunctioning DIncs and chose to go back to a DInc.

Verizon said I had to try another X2. Sure enough, constant freezing and popping out the battery. They send me another. Same freaking thing. I am absolutely fed up. I called and told them they were going to eat my termination fees and they gave me a free month of data plus $10 off data a month for the next year. I told them I was done with these refurbed phones and I wanted an upgrade. They flat out refused but oh-so-graciously would allow me to use one of my upgrades and switch to the new data. Um, no. How does that benefit me? So they sent yet another X2. The advice of the CS rep? "Don't install apps on it." Isn't that the point of a smart phone?

I gave it the weekend. On Friday it locked up/self rebooted/pulled the battery 7 times. Saturday and Sunday it was only 5 times each day but that's because I didn't use it for anything more than texting/making calls. One call I couldn't even answer because the phone froze.

This is crap. How do I get a NEW phone from them?

I would make sure to write down precise history like when you called, what were sent to you, what happened, etc., make a list, then call in and demand to talk to a manager.

Completely agree with Twee. Have everything written down so you don't forget anything. If you don't get satisfaction from the manager, move up to the corporate level.

I have talked with a 'supervisor' to no avail. How do I get higher than that?

With all these refurbs, how many new batteries have you tried? I'd ask for a new battery as often that is the source of reboot problems. Also fast boot causes reboot issues on Gingerbread with many phones, regardless of model, and should be turned off in settings.

Well, the saga continues. I'm still on the second POS Droid X2 until the three phones are received back at Verizon even though I provided return tracking numbers.

I posted something on VW's Facebook wall and they responded fairly quickly asking for more information. I replied and that's the last I heard from them. That was Thursday.

I've been speaking with Sylvia in executive customer service. Her options were for me to get another DInc2 or they would "allow" me to use my upgrade early. If I were to do that, I'd have to move to the new tiered data plan. That's not an option because we have 5 phones on my plan, 3 of which are dumb phones. Under the new plan it would actually cost me more because of the dumb phone base price being more than the $10 I'm paying now. I incredulously asked Sylvia why on earth she considered that a real option since I'd be paying more. "Ma'am, I'm giving you options. It's not my fault you don't like them."

I posted on HTC's wall asking for help. They provided a phone number. My daughter had a soccer tourney this weekend so I'll be calling them later today.

Meanwhile I am missing texts, calls, and I have to pull the battery on this thing left and right.

Have you considered buying a phone on eBay, Amazon or Craigslist?

I just got the phone in December. Every time they send me a new phone, I get a year warranty starting again. I'm not paying for a phone seeing as I pay enough for service.

Well as long as they are sending you new stuff when the others crap out. I went through 2 MotoX's and 1 MotoX2 before they sent me my INC2 which was/is great, and was then not an issue. I Upgraded in January to the Nexus and it's been great as well.
Seems though that sooner or later the shared plan is gonna kick in, and it will make us all rethink things with Big Red, not that the other carriers are going to be any better, and we have all the other carriers available here in So Cal, but Verizon is by far the best for coverage, and I'm not sure I'd want to sacrifice that for a somewhat cheaper bill. I do understand your dilemma with the number of phones you are paying for...

OMFG this is like a bad movie. FedEx has lost all three boxes. I couldn't do anything but laugh when the fedex guy told me. I've opened a ticket with them and have a call into Verizon to see what the next step is. FedEx said they'd be more than happy to verify to Verizon that they can't find the packages. I wonder if Verizon will stick with their "We're not mailing any more out until a box is in our hand" or if they'll do something now.
