Same reboot problem here. Plugged in, it was rebooting continuously, unplugged it seemed to work well until the screen would time out. I changed the timeout to .5 hour and it did not reboot until the screen timed out again. Around 7AM the reboot issue has gone away and everything seems to be working fine.

My phone is over 2 years old. Why an update now. It's been working fine. I'm just going to let the message sit in my notification messages forever.

I agree 100%, and I wish I hadn't pressed "ok". I'm just waiting for DInc 4G, which Verizon keeps delaying.

Ugh HTC and Verizon, you're killing me here.

Am I the only one that hasnt' had any problems with this? (I feel like the Lone Ranger at this point.) I unplugged my Inc from the charger this morning and put it on my belt, since I was leaving the house for a few errands that took about an hour. About an hour later I read about a new app in the newspaper; took the phone out for he first time today to go to the "play store"... When I swiped the screen I got the update message and pushed OK.

It seemed like it took forever, but eventually did it's thing. Finally rebooted; notified me that I had successfully installed 4.08.605.1571ORD.

Thing have worked fine ever since. I downloaded and installed the app I was looking for with no problem; used it (it works fine), checed both my Yahoo and Gmail... ...not a single problem.

I only visited the forum to see what I might learn about the new version and what features I might have gained or lost.

It's only been a couple of hours, so I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but so far haven't experienced a single problem!

I've got over a hundred apps installed; but 95% have been moved to my SD card (every one that is movable). I keep the phone reasonably maintained with ZDbox, but other than that, it just works well just like it has for the past couple of years (My Inc is so old that they were still $200 with a contract).

I've got over 80,000 emails archived in my Yahoo Plus account and maybe 15,000 in my gmail account; never clear my trash or spam folders except when the program eventually dumps it. The Inc just keeps working, and so well that I haven't even considered shopping for a new one. If it ever quits, I'll probably pick up a used one cheap.

Now, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong (or right).

Like I said, I hope I'm not speaking too soon...

I received the update on June 28. So far everything seems about the same, though when I tap on the Pixar link in Google Play I get a FC, but I don't know if that's related to the upgrade, and I don't know if the upgrade is actually installed. Though it downloaded okay, everything stopped sometime during the night and the updater was stuck "Rebooting…"

Don't know if it makes a difference but I'm rooted and did the Ext4 conversion to get rid of the application space limitations, so maybe the upgrade was placed somewhere that it couldn't execute.

Answered my own question.... would love to get the bluetooth situation fixed but don't know if I dare accept this update....

Verizon Wireless has put together a update for the very first HTC Droid Incredible. The software update which is dubbed 4.08.605.15 is said to fix the car Bluetooth connection problem that it was suffering and the major ringtone problem where customers could not save their downloaded ringtones.

One other issue was all about the Visual Voice mail application located in the HTC Droid Incredible. Now customers will be able to record and send Visual Voice mail to up to 10 of their friends and see them in a list.

I just got this update and everything seemed to work fine until 2 am this morning. Then my phone woke me up because it was continuously rebooting and making that droid noise. After about one hour (many, many reboots) I yanked the battery. I called Verizon this morning and they told me that the multiple reboots was definitely normal. It was the process that needed to occur for the software upgrade to be successful. I laughed and asked if they were serious. They were definitely serious. Apparently this software update needs many, many reboots in order for it to successfully install. And Verizon/HTC programmed those updates to occur at 2 am for to consecutive night so as to minimize the disruption to the phone owner. So the Verizon rep told me to deal with it for one more night and then it should be done.

I just wanted to relay this info to all of the other people who are experiencing the multiple reboots at 2 am.

Same as me. Verizon confirms that 4.08.605.2 is the old version, 4.08.605.15 is the new version, and that the features you mentioned earlier (Bluetooth car kit, VCast ring tone fixes, and Visual Voicemail upgrades) are really the only changes. If for some reason it didn't install and the upgrade isn't shown in the Settings -> About Phone -> System Updates area, Verizon recommends waiting for it to "come around again in a couple of weeks."

The rep I talked to said if you followed this procedure to root the phone and get rid of the application space limitations (as I did, and it was the best thing I've ever done to my phone), that shouldn't affect this firmware update (although she said the warranty is void if I did that... I don't know about you but I got my HTC Droid Incredible two years ago and there's probably nothing left of the warranty anyway!).
