Here's something interesting
Have y'all heard that some companies won't use the droid os due to security issues? I just found out that my company won't let the droid os send or receive emails through the company email system. It has something to do with the droid os "firewall"? In other words, I can't send any emails to my company email address nor can I receive emails from my Inc. at work. Has anyone had a problem with that? My company doesn't even support Safari (for Mac).
But, then again, I rarely use my company email so...just thought I'd post to see if anyone had issues with their company.

That is odd the firewall for Android is said to betr very good. What OS is your company servers using? If a Linux flavor I don't see any kind of issue. If Windows maybe on their side. LOL

No issues at all with mine. I used the Inc to get my calendars, tasks and work emails without issue

This kind of support will come as time goes on. As exchange support improves on the device the server support will too.

I notice there is actually more work on the Exchange side of the house coming in 2.2. I would suspect as Google sees more actual businesses interested in using Android, they will step up their support to get a foothold.

This is going to be a big help in bringing android into the corporate realm.

I hope so. I'd love to see this phone thrive. I think they're finally realizing that more people and companies WANT to use it, but need to have the final pieces in place to do it. If they get it right, this could be the surge they need to really take a nick out of the iPhone. I believe they're still having some issues getting approved by companies, also.
Google seems to be on the precipice of making a HUGE jump in the market. But that's going to depend on making the next steps correctly. If they can tie up the loose ends, they may become quite the force to be reckoned with.

I have a feeling that, Apple is feeling the heat from Google. This year's WWDC, Steve Jobs is going to make a big announcement. Everyone seems to think that they'll be opening up the iPhone to other carrier's. I've read somewhere that the Droid OS is outselling the iPhone right now. I have to find the article and I'll post a link.

I honestly think the iPhone will be making a debut on Verizon as well this summer. We will just have to wait and see.
