same here I'm going to practice getting root on my friends G1 after he gets his Evo 4G... (envy kicks in)
hopefully our Incredibles could get our root going without waiting a month or so like the Eris =\

+1 for this. Looking forward to it. It is not for everyone, and I still believe the individual should have a very good understanding of the Android OS first, but I am one that likes the options rooting provides.

ok root is not something you just try... we have to wait till someone finds and exploit and supplies the update.zip for us to use..

That upsets me somewhat. An HTC phone that isn't even on the market yet is rooted? I wonder if HTC will put a patch on the EVO 4G before it is released or force an OTA update on the day of the phone's release to prevent this?

Im sure root is coming soon for the Incredible unless they really did THAT good of a job on preventing root lol.

Here's why we aren't getting root so soon.

The incredible is really hard to get right now (back ordered), so not a lot of people actually have it. Therefore there aren't a lot of people able to work on it.

A LOT of people got the Moto Droid when it came out, so there aren't too many Devs that have their hand on the Incredible.

Root has been found on several Sense UI devices that were < 2.1 and not many at all that are 2.1, so it might just take a while to get.
