There is probably a sport in herding sheep!
Well my dad has finally learned to install apps from the Google Market on his Rezound. Yeah I know it doesn't take much to learn, but up to this point, he's afraid to push or tab any buttons on it, afraid that he would mess it up, so this is a huge step for him.

JK's got a sport in Sheep Herding... wow there is so much I could say... but I'd get in trouble
Glad your dad is getting going. I tried to get my dad to like the smart phone thing, but at 80, he's just interested to know his desktop...

That's not bad. How long had he had it? I have a friend with a Fascinate and might have 10 apps that he installed, not because there isn't anything he wanted but because he didn't know how many apps it would hold without being full. When I told him I told him I've probably had 40 or more installed at one time he was floored. Since then he's added a few more but I think he's still afraid of it. This is a good 18+ months later. Some people.

Wow 10 apps downloaded, I just checked and my list hits 180+, now that's both download and rom loaded combined, and still plenty of space left...
BUT, I probably only use 25+ - from day to day...

Once us old folks figure out we it wont screw up anything permanently by doing stuff like that, look out.
When talking to newbs about Android I always stress "it wont do permanent damage so give it a try" and "find the home button, memorize its location and use it often until you figure out menu menu menu"

He has the phone for 30 days now. He's so happy to be able to surf the web and check his email on it. My dad is 70 years old. It was very hard explaining to him the Google Market and what it is about. He still doesn't have a good grasp of it though I'm sure after downloading a few more apps, he'll get a better idea. The only way to learn is to play with it. I even told him that I could fix it if he breaks it!
My play store list is over 200, but I get rid of stuff periodically that I don't use. I also don't keep junk. If it sucks it's gone. You know what's funny when I first started looking at android all I heard was Apple has 100,000+ apps and android we barely pushing 10 - 13,000. Wonder what the totals are now? It doesn't really matter how many apps you have if a lot of them are junk. Just a couple of months ago a tech channel I watch reported Apple vs android, Apple apps force closed and failed more often than android. I find that really funny seeing as how Apple is all exclusive with their market, and testing and approval. I mean they only make apps to run on one phone, one ui, one chip set and they fail. Not always but enough the android pulled ahead. Here's the story Do iOS Apps Crash More Often Than Android Apps? Study Says Yes | iJailbreak.com and here's the short sweet vid
And before you all start commenting how wrong I am, I changed it to a lot, not most, and I know that each version of iPhone 4s 3 3g 3gs all have different chip sets but you get what I'm saying. They're making apps for themselves and failing. Nope that may have just put the war back on. Let me rephrase that, I mean not doing as well as one might expect. Is that all pc, and ok? Probably not but I tried. Ok let me have it...

A coworker was complaining about his Android, and said he was considering an iPhone, as he was told they have no issues. He has the EVO 3D through sprint, which I believe is the issue. I also had an android on sprint with my last company, and had all sorts of issues, so I'm thinking it's the network.
