Hotspot and Tethering

I have been looking for an app that will allow me to use my dinc as a wifi hotspot or at least to tether my Acer 500 tab. I have found that doing it for a pc is one thing but it are less options for another android device it seems. The one I found that works great costs 15 dollars which I would rather not pay since I will need to do this very seldom. Every other thing I have tried won't work. My phone is not rooted and I don't plan on rooting it.

I found a widget that automatically opens my dinc's hotspot and my tab immediately sees it. My question is will Verizon see this and try to charge me? When you open this with the phone's app it tells you to buy the service from Verizon. Will using this widget cause me problems with Verizon? Thanks

I would PM MountainBikerMark, he's been using a tethering app that might fit your needs. As I am Rooted, my answer wouldn't be the most helpful.

I've never seen any indication that Verizon knows about it or if they are aware that they care enough to do anything about it.
