ICS ROMs on the HTC Incredible
Over the past couple of days, I have been attempting to install ICS ROMs on my HTC Incredible. To state things briefly, it has not been going as planned.
I have tried to install an ICS 4.0.3 ROM, following these instructions: Install Ice Cream Sandwich on HTC Droid Incredible [AOKP ROM]After following the instructions presented by the preceding "How to" post, my Incredible just sits on the ICS 4.0.3 boot screen (the screen with the pieces of various color, that look like sections of the google chrome logo, that "fly" about), and will not boot into ICS 4.0.3 itself.
So, after trying to install the ROM a couple of times and, after reverting to 2.2 through my nandroid backup, I moved on.
Next, I tried to install an ICS 4.0 ROM from the following site: {Rom}[Pure Ice Cream Sandwich]Omx{2.0.1-c}(12-09) - RootzWiki
Again, after following the same procedures as outlined in the previous ROM installation guide, my Incredible just sits at the ICS 4.0 boot screen (the screen with the android text being highlighted every second or so.), and will not boot into ICS 4.0.
Once again I tried installed the ROM a few times. Following these failed attempts, I reverted to 2.2 through my nandroid backup.
Additionally, I tried to install these ICS ROMs by using the ClockWorkMod Recovery application, but the same results were presented to me.
I am not quite sure of what I am doing wrong, or what could be causing my attempts at installing ICS ROMs to be unsuccessful. But, then I again, I know very little about Android, at this point in time.
On a side not, I am unable to update my device to Gingerbread 2.3.4. Each time I boot up my phone, I am notified of it, and I choose to reboot my phone and install the update. But, after the 10 second countdown to the reboot of my phone, nothing happens. I even tried leaving my phone at this stage overnight, but it progressed no where. I am not sure if the problem that is causing this could be related to what is keeping from booting into the ROMs that I install, or not, but I thought I'd post it, just in case it helps.
If some of you more versed Android enthusiasts on the Incredible forums could explain to me what the problem is here, or guide me through how to correctly install an ICS ROM on a 1st gen Incredible, the assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Remember, please explain things to ensure that I understand what is being suggested, and so I can learn more about Android.
Thank you all in advance for putting up with me!

Welcome to the forum! Please provide us some more info about your phone, like hboot version, s-on/s-off, radio, CMW version, etc. And you mentioned that you can nandroid, so you're running 2.2 without issues, is that correct?
I'm not sure about the Pure ICS ROM and RootzWiki seems to be down at the moment so I can't go to the link you provided, but I have the AOKP ROM flashed on my Inc. The Inc is running slow with ICS. I think the first boot up of that ROM took like 10-15 minutes for me. So when you flashed, did you let it long enough to go through the boot or did you pull battery after a few minutes?

Flash video on all ICS ROMs did not work for me and all others I could find up till yesterday. Today an update for Flash 11.1 was available in Google Play store and it fixes my CM9 ICS issues with Flash 11.1 not working. Yay! Finally a reason to stay in ICS besides it being the sweetest version of Android yet!

Hey, MindLike...
What rom are you using? I would love to get ICS on my Incredible 1. I've got CM7 on there right now, and it's pretty great, but would love to try ICS.
Thanks!
