HELP! - Apps have disappeared on phone!

Not sure what my phone was doing when this happened tonight but at some point it froze (does that from time to time), I went to turn it on again and for some reason it was taking longer than usual. When the phone finally booted up, my current launcher (Go Launcher EX) was filled with mostly widgets that said app not installed and popups for a dozen or so of FC's. After a little digging, it turns out that the apps on my SD card no longer appear on the phone when I go to the Applications section in the settings. Is there anyway I can see if the apps are on the SD card when I connect my phone to my computer, or through another method to verify that they are there? Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there another solution to this?

First question (or 3)- are you running an Inc or Inc2? Rooted? Which ROM?

Inc and its not rooted.

Seems like any app that I try to open that I've downloaded are force closing instantly. Even market does the same. I'm thinking possibly a corrupted file on the phone. I know that my last chance is to do a complete wipe and reset. Which in that case if I have to, I might as well install a rom since I've been meaning to do so but have been putting off for a while. But before I do this, I'm trying to find the reason for this happening,

Since you mentioned that apps on your SD card are not showing up, I'm wondering whether your card might be going bad. Do you have another SD card to try?

No I don't. What folder in the SD are the apps stored in?
