GingerBread....
So, I just got off the phone with HTC about the Gingerbread update. HTC claims they have already released a gingerbread update for the Incredible/Desire. Now the time line is on Big Red. So next step I called vzw about this and they provided me with NO information on the matter. So maybe if we complain enough to verizon they actually get to work on it. If any one else has any news on this topic feel free to add to this . I know this was asked awhile ago, and I have yet to see an actual answer on the matter.

They are probably hoping at Big red everyone with a Dink will upgrade so they don't have to worry about it.

Unless you personally speak with someone with the title of executive vice president or higher they are telling the truth when they say they know nothing about any time lines.

I figure that Verizon will be perfectly happy ignoring Incredible/gingerbread requests.
Maybe what we should do is fill the blogs with requests for HTC to release the update.
Then when HTC publicly announces that Verizon has the code we can go after them.
On the other hand - we were told that the upgrade would OTA this summer and we're
only a few days into summer. Everything could actually be on schedule.

IMO Froyo was a very successful release. I am not sure whether gains would be significant with gingerbread.

yes, patrickgerry. the froyo release was a MAJOR improvement. according to my (limited) knowledge Sense minimizes the UI changes but there may be improvement in battery life, etc.
According to some news stories Verizon has sent some Motorola Gingerbread updates back for bug fixes. They're probably working on the HTC updates as well.
