How to get past activation screen without activation?

Basically you hit "emergency call" instead of activate and then press # # 7 7 8 CALL.

This is where you would enter the Akey to program if OTA was not available or working. But you can probably just exit this out and when the phone power cycles - it should come up to it's normal setup instead of the activation screen. (If you click the link) I just used option #2 and let the Akey programming "timeout". AKA let it sit there for a few minutes. After which it power cycled. It never asked me to activate it again even after power cycling the phone a few times. After that it let me set everything up as normal - and I've just been running it on my wifi. I'm sure some people might wonder why this could be necessary but I just didn't feel like putting it on my plan yet. Who knows why someone else might need to get past the activation screen on a new phone. Possibly because it's slightly retarded you can't access the phone without doing so.
I have also heard that if you attempt and cancel the activation a few times it will let you in as well. Did not get to try it since I just did the above.
DISCLAIMER: If you think you're captain awesome and start fooling around in the back end of the programming portion of the phone accessed by the above method and you screw up your phone it's your own damn fault. I am not responsible for what you do. I didn't touch anything in there. And there is a LOT of things in there to fool with. I strongly suggest you DON'T touch anything in there unless you know exactly what you are doing.
I just wanted past the activation screen and that did the trick.
