Need to connect through a proxy server at work

I can not find -and from what I understand from reading on other sites the incredible droid os does not support connecting to the internet through a proxy server.

This is a real disappointment and a very basic function of most os'es, so I don't understand why this would not be available.

Am I missing a setting, or are there any announcements on when this featur e might be available.

I believe you can do this, but it looks to require root. Someone else may have more information on this. At least if it does require it....it has been achieved

I am having the same problem. How do you do this? I was hoping to configure my droid to take the place of my blackberry.
