Need serious help
Hello community,
I recently got an Incredible and love the phone. I decided to tinker with it though and flashed a rom to android 2.3.7, after I got it back down to android 2.2 with SkyRaider 4.x I tried to go back to factory settings but it would not let me no matter what RUU i tried. I finally got one to go back from a forum i read about how to downgrade hboot. However once i did this my phone will start up but at the white htc incredible screen it starts having black lines go across the screen then after that screen goes away the whole screen is black except for a thin white line on the left and right side of the screen. Any ideas on what i can do to get my phone working again? I ordered a replacement phone since it was still under warranty but a friend said i may be screwed if they look at my phone and see it was rooted before. the guide i folllowed said it would unroot the phone however. please help.

Did you get a refurbished Inc? Sounds like you just have an SLCD screen and downgraded using the wrong method. No need to get a new phone. Do a site search for black lines and you should find the resolution pretty quickly.

Thank you so much enlightened i actually got it back to running and everything is going good. I can post the file if i have the privileges (not sure). Hopefully we can use this thread as a help to others also. I will keep an eye on these forums to see if I can aid people and spread the knowledge I have. Wondering also if you know any good forums to keep reading up on besides these? Thanks again and I will edit and give credit where it is due for the file I found.

The build I got that solved all the problems and was the only one to work is http://static.droidnetwork.net/dpist...00_PB31IMG.zip. Credit goes to Doug for posting this in the hacking forums.

The most central place that I've found for rooted users to find the custom goodies for the Dinc is at XDA-Developers. There are plenty of the other discussion boards and such... but you will find this place a good start (and a way of finding the other places).
HTC Droid Incredible - xda-developers
There you will find the most active place for talking about development (and users of custom development) for the Dinc. If something is developed for the Dinc, it will usually be found there, or somebody will post a link there, or it will be discussed there and they can point you in the right direction. It's not nearly as active as it was in the past. The people are moving on to newer phones.
