Car Stereo with USB

Hello... So I just bought a Pioneer head unit for my car which has a USB port built into it.. I was wondering if there was any way that I could play my music off my phone through the USB or whether I have to use the AUX cable. The USB would be the best route for me since I already know it charges my phone as well. Thanks in advanced!

If it is like my Kenwood head unit you can plug in your phone and choose the "disk drive" option. Your head unit should see it as a USB device. You could also use the Aux port and control the music from your phone. Keep in mind the quality may be slightly diminished due to the analog connection.

when I connected it and switched it to disk drive, it says "No Media Found." According to the box it only reads the first partition.. so Im assuming that it shows the internal storage as the first partition... also I'll note that my phone isnt rooted. thanks!

I see... You have the music on the sdcard then? Maybe try the there modes to see if it will see the sdcard.

I didn't have that issue with my head unit...

I tried what you said and I got an error... im sure if I flip through the manual I could find what that specific error means... just wish i could figure it out lol

With Pioneer, you need to use the Aux port. They don't support Andriods yet.

My Jvc seems to do the same thing. It works great thru the aux port. Banged my head against the wall reading the manuals for quite a while.

After formatting my phone I also faced problem like 'NO MEDIA FOUND". When I reinstall PC connected software it worked again.
