External speaker quit working
I need some assistance here. I have the Dinc, unrooted with android 2.2. Last night I was listenening to music and then all of the sudden nothing. My speaker completely quit working. I tried to reboot and even took my phone apart to make sure it wasn't just a bad connection on the speaker. About 5 months ago I did change out the speaker with a replacement I got off ebay because the old one was blown out but this time I get no sound at all; no ringers, notifications, speaker phone, or music.
Any thoughts if this is the speaker going out or if I have a bug or a more serious issue. Thanks in advance for any help

I have the same problem. I know it was working yesterday morning because my alrm went off but now ever notification is a vibrating alert. I noticed it when I tried to put a phone call on speakerphone. I checked it with music on mySD card and Pandora. Nothing. I plugged my headphones in and I get sound just fine. I dont think the speaker is blown. I have a rooted Dinc with the latest CM7 ROM. I am thiking this is a software issue but not sure. I was thinking of flashing the latest nighly. Any thoughts?
Update - flashed latest nightly and nothing. Just in case anyone asks, I did remove the battery several times. I am tempted to reflash cm7 but I am thinking its not a software issue anymore. Anyone have any thoughts?

I changed the speaker in mine and all is well. I gues the speaker can just quit working instead of sounding blown out.
I would recommend changing out your speaker.

So I ordered a new speaker last week. It is on its way along with a few other things I picked up at amazon. But, of course, I am lying there just relaxing after working on my house and I hear a phone notification. Low and behold it just started working again. I dont know how or why but it did. I am stumped. So now I have a spare speaker on the way. One thing I would try if it does this again is to pull the phone apart and clean the conductive pad on the pc board/flex that the speaker sits on (with alcohol, IPA).
