People App - Design/Layout of App Not Very Satisfactory
Is anyone working on a modified version of the People App? It is generally not great. Two specific complaints/concerns are: the viewable space for addresses often means you cannot see the complete address. Often the postal code or the abbreviation for the state or province or country is not viewable unless you go into edit mode and then move the cursor. The second concern is the NOTES section. When you edit the note - you only see 1-2 lines at a time in the note section - rather than being able to easily scroll down thru the notes to find where you want to do the editing. Seeing 1-2 lines as you scroll thru is not very satisfactory.
Has anyone found a good Android CONTACTS App - that syncs with OUTLOOK and has a robust NOTES section?

I downloaded AContact and I have deleted it. It is a great program for phone numbers etc. but it did not address my original concern about storing notes on the contact or the the visible space to see the the entire address.
Someone must have developed a Contacts app that makes provision for detailed notes on the person that can be easily edited with more than one line viewable at a time.

Hmmm... It is very strange you are having those issues. Even the stock people app on mine doesn't exhibit those issues. Lately I have been using GO Contacts. How large are the notes on your contacts? I have a few paragraphs on one of my contacts and it will display on both the stock people app and GO.

Thanks. My problem is with the Stock People App. When I click on a name, the entire address is not always visible. The only place where the home address can be viewed is in the "View Home Address" line. Often the last few digits of a postal code or letters in the word of the address can not be read. There is not enough space for it all to be displayed. When you click on the "View Home Address" to see the rest of the address - of course, you get into the GPS location mode which is not what I want to see. I think the only way I am able to see the entire address is to go into the edit mode. But if you try that, you will see that in the "Edit" mode even reading the entire address is next to impossible unless you do some fine maneouvering.
The other issue is with the "Notes": I can read the entire Note and scroll down through it. But when I want to add to the note by going into the "Edit" mode - you get one tiny space to work within and it is extremely awkward to add something to your notes at the right place in the notes - almost impossible. I have given up. If I am on the road and want to add a note to a contact, I write it down on a pad and then make the addition on my laptop and then through the syncing process, it eventually gets on to my HTC.
I hope there are some updates to the stock app. I will check the GO Contacts app. Thanks

Hey, back in June 2011 I whined and complained about the stock PEOPLE app and just in the past week, I have been reminded of the same deficiencies in this app. I would hope it would be a simple modification to the app that would solve the problems. Are there ever updates to stock apps like the People app?
In case you didn't read the earlier parts of this thread, I will re-post my problems:

My old Palm and more recent iTouch were much more user friendly with respect to contacts and notes within the contact app.
Can these issues be resolved by way of an update to the app?
Thanks.

For the Notes part, might I suggest you use something like ColorNotes to make your notes and then copy/paste into your Notes field in for your contact. That way you don't have to scribble them down to a pad.

What razor02097 said in message #2 of this thread still holds. I've yet to encounter aline of information which falls of the screen in AContact.
