This still happens to me. I just tried it last week, and it played a song, then the next one, played about half and then just went to the next song. Then again, played maybe 30 seconds, then skipped to next.
I am not rooted at all. It's why I don't use Pandora much, every so often, I will try it but same thing.
i have this same exact problem i believe it has to do with the phone because i downloaded yahoo music and it does the same exact thing....starting to piss me off because its what i use for music in my car.
I have the same problem and re-installing has not worked.
I've also had a similar issue that just started this week. I've been using Pandora without issues for over a year and it just started skipping to the next track after about 30 seconds of play...very annoying. Here are some things I was able to establish:
1. Same issue with other streaming audio apps - Pandora, lastfm, slacker radio - so not an app issue.
2. Nevertheless reinstalled the apps, made sure phone updates current, pulled battery, rebooted phone. Problem still remains.
3. Switched from mobile network to WIFI and streaming WORKS FINE.
4. So it's only an issue using the mobile network.
Did anyone figure out how to fix this on their own?
I had this same problem a few months ago and emailed pandora about it. I got this is reply:
I think I went through step four and that seemed to fix it with no problems since. Since it sounds like this is a ubiquitous problem, the more people that email pandora, the more they will realize they need to make some fixes on their end. Hope this helps anyone, and please email them as well, they seem to respond promptly to that sort of thing.Really sorry to hear that you are having problems with Pandora on your phone.
We'd love to help you get back to listening to your stations, so can you tell us exactly is happening when you open the Android app (in as much detail as possible)?
As far as troubleshooting, please try the following. We know that you may have already tried some of these steps, but it's really useful to go through each of them one more time in the order specified below:
1. Uninstall the app: From the home screen, press the menu key and select Settings then Applications. Select Manage Applications. Scroll down and select Pandora. Then Uninstall.
2. Power down the phone and pull the battery out. Put the battery back in and turn the phone on.
3. Reinstall: Go to the Android Market and search for Pandora.
4. Clear data for Pandora: Press the menu key and select Settings then Applications. Next select Manage Applications. On that page select Clear data.
5. Try switching from High Quality audio to Normal Quality audio. From the Now Playing screen, press the phone's menu button and select Preferences. Change the Cell Network Audio Quality to Normal instead of High.
6. Make sure the app installed to the phone's local memory. If the app is on the SD card, move it to local memory then restart your phone.
Note: We do not support Pandora on rooted or unlocked phones, unofficial OS releases, or custom ROMs. We only support Pandora on configurations that we have fully tested, so as to ensure the application will work correctly and won't cause any problems with functions of the device.
Did any of these steps help?
Thanks very much for your help!
