Download apps with computer then transfer to phone?

I spend alot of time in a location (other side of the planet) where I cannot connect with my Verizon Incredible phone. Is there a way to surf and download apps with my computer, then transfer to my phone and install?

I spent some time searching for a thread that answers this question, but did not find anything after searching for a while.

Any help would be appreciated.
