Slacker Radio + HTC Incredible = Frustration!
Ok I have Slacker Radio Plus service and since day 1 and I do me 1 slacker has run terrible on this phone. The program will run fine if I don't ever skip a song but I have a plus account and that's one of the best parts of the plus account is unlimited song skip. But if I do skip a song, sometimes the 1st sometimes 4th or the 10th but I never normally can skip that many before the app freezes and restarts my Incredible. Every time i use slacker it does this. the app will run forever if I never skip a song but the sec. I start skipping songs bam freeze and restart. I tried slacker forum for help but all I got was really works great on my Droid. U know how amazingly frustrating it is to keep hearing that when u are having issues. I even tried to uninstall then went in on my phone storage and deleted all files pertaining to slacker and then downloaded and reinstalled logged in started to skip songs and thought yes its working then like the 8th song bam freeze and restart. Am I really alone in this problem I mean no other app does this just slacker radio. I use slacker on my ipod touch and it works smooth as silk and I can skip songs till the cows come home but not on this phone. I'm at the end of my rope here cause I use slacker radio everyday at work and I'm so sick of having to carry my ipod and my droid incredible with me. If anyone has info. on this please please let me know. thanks

yes, the slacker app is pretty crappy.
Rooted HTC Incredible!

Yeah. I actually don't think it has anything to do with you skipping songs. I don't have a plus account and i usually just let it play, banning songs occasionally, and it will eventually just reboot my phone. Same thing happens using Radiotime. I'm not so sure it's the apps as much as something in the way the tweaked OS is handling streaming audio.

I haven't had that exact issue, but lately, my screen either goes completely black, or it keeps telling me to hit play to restart the station. It's frustrating because I also have the paid account and it's starting to feel like I wasted my money. The help forums over there aren't very helpful. Wish I could offer some actual help, but wanted to let you know you're not alone.

I guess it could be a software thing but its so weird cause it seems that everywhere i go an even now people who have the same phone as me have completely different problems. I have yet to fine one person who said yes mine also reboots when i skip songs. Its the oddest thing i have ever seen where everyone's problem with slacker is a bit different. If i don't skip song it will run on for day and never reboot not once only when i start skipping music does this happen. I just never seen anything like it with computers or smartphones were no one has the same problem as the other and we all have the same phone....

same phone + bazillion app combination interactions = different problems on the same phone. I was thinking about checking out Slacker... looks like I'm sticking with Pandora.

I honestly have not had any issues with it restarting the phone. It has never done that for me. It does however sometimes stop in the middle of a song and go to the next song or just randomly skip songs when I'm not touching it. And why the hell am I still getting ads when I have plus lol

If i had to describe the slacker app in one word it would be "blows". And its not just on the incredible either. It blew on my blackberry curve, storm2, my wife's MOTO droid, and my incredible. You definitely need to check out Pandora. I've never had an issue with it. I think the sound is better and I think it plays better music to go along with your taste. But thats just my opinion.

I've been a Slacker subscriber for going on 3 years. For a long time I didn't have any issues. I'd say for at least the past year I've been having all kinds of issues. I believe it's a software issue because I have the same/ similar issues on different devices. On my phone (HTC Incredible) it plays a partial song and skips, skips songs all together and I also get errors and force close. I also have a Sony media player (which I bought specificaly for slacker) and it does the same thing, even worse. I've also had friends with similar issues with different network providers. When I contacted support at slacker about it, they told me my network stength must not be good and to try wi-fi. In other words, they were no help. I have gone back to the free version until they fix the issues. I'm not paying for something that doesn't work the way it's supposed to. I'm hopeful they will fix it soon.
