Screebl is one that I highly recommend assuming HTC doesn't have something similar built in. You can go to their website and check out a video on it. A must on the Droid for sure. Beyond that, I will have to see what HTC apps are all about and go from there. I know with the Droid I would recommend certain email, sms, tone picker etc type apps, but HTC may already have nice ones of these. From what I have seen of their calendar...I am impressed so I am hoping other items follow suite.

Ringdroid, Google Sky, Jewellust, Robodefense, Shazam, Task Killer just to name a few.

Are there any good security apps? Specifically, one that could lock or erase my phone if it's lost/stolen. Additionally, an app that could hide SMS AND MMS messages (long story behind that).

Mobile Defense will do the security you are looking for and there is an app called App Protector Pro for $2 that will enable you to put passwords on any type of application you want so if you dont want people looking at your texts you can set a password or pattern lock for the MMS app and you wont be able to access your MMS messages without first putting in the password or pattern.

I agree with all except task killer. There is just not a need for these things. I use to be one that thought I needed it, but eventually gave it up as many have said to do. So glad I did. No reason to run one.

Yeah task killers are useless on a Linux based system. All task killers do is drain the battery faster than the apps they kill. That's why there is the Process manager built into the phone.

Agree 100%. They can also cause problems with other apps if not careful. Nothing like killing some alarm that you had downloaded..

Thanks for the Task Killer information. I remember how the VZW in-store representative was advocating (practically stating it was a necessity) Advanced Task Killer when I was thinking about the Moto Droid.

Yep, A lot of stupid people put apps that shouldn't be in the Task Killer. Like Beautiful Widgets for instance, They kill that then get mad and complain to the dev because his program isn't updating like its supposed to lol.

Yeah that doesn't surprise me at all. Most VZW employees have no clue what they are talking about lol. I'm so glad i found a store near me who has knowledgeable people.
