    I'm looking for an app

that will silence text from everyone except my husband during the overnight hours.

My husband is disabled and living on our first floor so I must keep my phone on but stupid meathead friends keep texting me after I go to bed even though I've asked them to stop. I have to leave my phone on for my husband so I want to silence all other texts. Is there an easy toggle app that will let me allow this?

I don't know of such app, but I kinda do similar thing with my husband. So what I do is set the ringtone to the Messaging app to silent so everyone else's texts are silence. And my husband and I, we use Talk to exchange IMs between us, and Talk is set with a ringtone that I can hear when my husband IMs me. This isn't the app you're looking for, though it could be an alternate solution that you can use in the interim while you're looking for such app.

Whoisit. Set up vip profile for who you want to override the silent settings. I paid $1 for it on the market. It does a ton of things but the vip profile is what you need on it. It works great.

Thanks for the Whoisit recommendation. I'm getting used to it but it's doing just what I need.

Mark (or anyone), any other recs? Whoisit pooped out on me the other day. I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I went looking for support and found out others had the same problem as I do and support was nonexistent. Which is too bad, because the app did exactly what I needed.

the "auto sms."If you receive many text messages or calls at inopportune times, like when you're driving, Auto SMSmight be very useful for you.
A bold attempt is half success.
