How easily does the Steinheil Crystal get scratched/marked up?
I recently got an Inc and need some screen protection for it. Over the years I have tried many different brands of protectors for my devices...Zagg, BSE, PhantomSkinz, BodyGuardz, Clear Protector, and Stealth Guardz to name a few. Each has their pros and cons and I have my preferences, but I wasn't 100% satisfied with any of them, and so as always, am looking to try a new brand.
All of those are the rubber, sticky installation kinds. They work well for protection, but most of them have some amount of a textured look and feel (Zagg being the worst). Most of them are "self healing" and don't technically scratch (all but PhantomSkinz), but they do get marked up over time. You don't really see it head on, but they are easily seen in a glare. Eventually is also starts to effect the feel.
I would like to try a static cling type protector for their better feel and clarity. Of the brands out there, I've narrowed it down to the Steinheil Crystal and the new BodyGuardz Dry Apply. Reading around, the Steinheil Crystal gets heavy praise, but the BG is a cheaper and there aren't any reviews out there yet. Before I buy any I would like to know easily these types of protectors get scratched or marked up (similar to how I mentioned above). If its not really any better than the rubber ones, then I'll just keep buying the $3 stealth guardz every couple months.

Most people are very happy with their Steinheil protectors. You get 2 in a package for about $12 but won't ever really need the second one unless you screw up applying the first. Tip: applying in a steamy bathroom makes it easiest to apply without getting anything stuck underneath. I haven't done a scratch test or anything like that but routinely have my phone in my bag with keys, etc and have had no problems in the 3-4 months I've had my Steinheil on.

I have had the Steinheil from day one and there is not a single scratch on it. It cuts down the finger prints by 80%.
I put mine on wet. I tried the steamy bathroom and kept getting very small pieces of lint. Any lint or dust and the
screen will not stick in that spot. You will see perfect round raised area under the protector.
I messed up the first protector and on the second one, I started the protector on the top of the
phone and got my fingers wet and carefully put the phone by the faucet and ran water on the protector.
Work your way up using the plastic squeegee and it is done.

Another question, is there a difference between the "Crystal Clear" and the "Ultra Clear"? It looks like the Ultra Clear is newer and replaced the Crystal Clear, but I can get the Crystal Clear a lot cheaper.

i have had mine on for nearly 6 months. it has only a few extremely fine scratches that are only seen under the brightest of light. it has not lifted or peeled. i would definitely buy another pack.

I had mine two weeks, and I have some decent scratches on it, but you only see them when the screen is off. It does what its suppose to and protect the screen. Well worth it.
